Morgantown is positioned within a 500-mile radius of half the U.S. population and is within 200 miles of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Charleston, West Virginia, Washington D.C., Baltimore, Maryland, and Columbus and Cleveland, Ohio. Morgantown is easily accessed through interstate highways I-79 and I-68.

Morgantown is home to J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, a level 1 trauma center. The hospital was ranked as the number one hospital in West Virginia by U.S. News & World Report and has four Magnet designations from the American Nurses Credentialing Center. The WVU School of Medicine also is a top medical school graduating some of the brightest minds of the new generation.

The Morgantown area is home to the WVU Mountaineers, a variety of Division 1 sports and the West Virginia Black Bears baseball team. Morgantown was highly ranked on Forbes “Best Small Places for Business and Careers” in 2019. In addition to sports, Morgantown has a vibrant arts community and offers a multitude of great restaurants and small businesses.
